At some point a few months ago, I noticed that Cooper had a shoe fetish. If he sees shoes, he makes sure that the left and right are together and perfectly lined up. But the funnier thing is that when he sees shoes, ANY shoes, he will put them on. Sometimes they are on the right feet and sometimes not, but regardless, he will put them on and walk a few feet in them before realizing it's more difficult to do when they are about 4 times the size of your foot. I have taken the liberty of capturing some of these moments on photo and thought I'd share them! He is just so fun!
We've mostly just been hanging out and enjoying ourselves. We love having Olivia around and Cooper seems to love her as well. He is still stuck on wanting to hug, kiss, and hold her. There are only a few moments that he has gotten upset with having a new baby sister!
We spent a few afternoons up at the beach where two different rivers meet. We had to go there to get out of the heat! Olivia was only about a week old at that point. We drove out to the Coast one day, we checked out the parks so Cooper could play in the water, and today we stopped by the children's museum and had a ball.
It's hard to say if we take as many pictures of Olivia as we did of Cooper... Cooper seems to be in most of our pictures with Olivia! He just likes being a big brother.

At 2:47pm on Wednesday August 4th, Olivia Marie joined our family. We were 39 and a half weeks and she joined the world exactly 5 days early, just like her big brother. The similarities end there as she was almost two pounds bigger (8/3!!) and 2 inches longer (20 3/4"). The most surprising detail was that she was born with a full head of hair! Her middle name is after Ryan's grandmother Lois Marie and great grandmother, Gwyn Marie. Mamong or Gran as we call her is a wonderful and amazing part of our lives. Back when we were celebrating my birthday we went hiking and spoke about names for just a few minutes. Because we named Cooper after my side of the family (Michael, after my Dad), we felt like it would be nice to pay homage to part of Ryan's family as well especially because of the relationship we both share with Ryan's grandmother. Gran will get to meet her namesake in about 6 weeks when we take our annual trip to Pinetop in September.
Cooper has been absolutely amazing. He is constantly asking to hold his baby sister and wants to give her kisses and hugs as well. He usually wants to give Olivia a binkie, kind of like he is saying "this is good stuff baby sister, trust me." He seems to be quite protective of her, and he gets really concerned when she cries, saying "she's crying" in his Cooper language. When Cooper and Olivia are in the same room, it is constant borderline cuteness overload, and sometimes it goes into full-on cuteness explosion, causing tears of joy in any adults in the room with a pulse.
