We got to make a quick trip to Phoenix last weekend... one more trip before the Bean will keep me grounded (don't think we're trying to hide the name from you because we keep calling her the Bean... we just have LITERALLY no idea what to name her). Dad got out of the hospital two weeks ago Sunday so our weekend there was his first weekend home. He got to have both his grandson's there and the rest of the family. There was no better place to be. Dad has gone into remission, his last biopsy came back clear. It's celebratory news to say the least and we are keeping our fingers crossed and spirits up for the next part of the journey. He will go in for chemo next week (just to make sure the bad guys stay away) and then we wait... wait until a donor is available for a transplant. He looked absolutely wonderful and is still wearing his bald head quite beautifully.
Our boys got to play together all weekend. It is so fun to watch them together, even at two years apart, they spent every moment together. They even made sure to have their shirts and/or pants off at the same time... and at one point we heard them discussing what characters were on their underwear (Brody had Cars and Cooper had Sesame Street, and yes, I fully expect them to be embarrassed by this story someday)!! It was ridiculously HOT there, which is not a surprise considering it's June in Phoenix. I must have already acclimated to the moisture because I could not get enough water down my gullet! We spent as much time as possible in the pool. I'm thinking we need some lessons for Cooper, maybe this summer would work. They both seemed to love the water though.
We got to see our good friends Laura and Rusty and their two boys (with a girl on the way in October) AND we got to visit with Colette-y and the Pickard clan for a couple hours at her baby shower. Toni is only a few weeks away from arrival and everyone looked great. This picture is of me, Colette, and Courtney, each of us is due one month apart (Colette is July 1, I'm August 8th, and Courtney is September 11th). Cooper got to play with Waylon for a little bit, but there were lots of kids so it was a bit overwhelming!
